Deconstructing a Column for Seat: Colonna by Studio 65 Most everyone can recognize the traditional Greek and Roman columns of yore, but one design team decided to talk the traditional column and deconstruct it into various pieces of furniture. Titled Colonna by Studio 65, it features three separate pieces that can be used as different seating units when apart. When together, they can be stacked to look like a piece of column that has been broken in half. If you are looking to add some classic design elements into your home, this could be a great fit.

Feng shui was developed in China over 3,000 years ago. It stems from the Taoist belief that everything comes from nature and thus, everything from a corner in your home to the teapot on your stove holds energy. Based on the idea of yin and yang, Taoists believe that proper balance energies within the home can directly influence the good fortune of its inhabitants. Loosely translated, feng shui means “wind and water”, both which are associated with good health and good fortune. A good way to think about how this works is to think about the way wind and water move in nature. When energetic obstacles in the home are removed and each element is in perfect harmony, wind and water are able to flow easily. When a home’s energy is out of balance, the movement of wind and water may slow down or become trapped. On the surface, feng shui may seem like simply a way to arrange furniture in order to create harmony, but it is actually a rather complex science. Many feng shui techniques add elements to a space that can make it more tranquil and aesthetically pleasing, while also promoting the improvement of our lives as a whole. Getting Started With Feng Shui There are a few tools that you will need to get started with feng shui. The main tools are the compass and the Bagua. The compass is important because each direction coincides with a different area of your life. For instance, North is ...

The post Feng Shui: Science or Superstition? appeared first on Mojo Direct Blog.

Clearly, it is because the lamp produces a look like no other. Rather than having a conventional bulb of any sort in it, the lamp is actually lit by electroluminescent wire, 20 metres of it to be exact. The lamp offers a very soft glow and is being marketed as a floor lamp. It certainly is one of the most unique designs we have seen.
