Budget Designs

Moving into a new home brings with it great decorating opportunities. The walls are all empty and the setting is fresh, nothing could be more welcoming to the aspiring decorator. Home decorating from scratch can be quite thrilling, but also a bit challenging. Blank walls can be a bit intimidating, especially if you are operating on a budget, but with some creative thinking, budget friendly decorating can be accomplished without too much effort.

One budget friendly decorating option is plants. Potted plants can bring a new life into an otherwise dull room and they can also help improve air quality. Plants of course need light so they should go in a room that gets plenty of sunshine. But if there is a room that you want plants in that does not get strong, direct sunlight then you may want to choose plants that will thrive in a low or indirect light setting. Visiting a garden center or doing internet research will help you to decide which plants will best suit your room.

Paint, although not always inexpensive, is one of the easier and cheaper forms of decoration that can be employed when decorating a new space. The right color of paint can change the whole mood of a room. What was once a dark and dank bathroom can look fresh and bright with a coat of buttercup yellow or sea foam green. You can also paint borders and patterns on your walls for more a more unique and diverse look. This can be especially fun in a kid’s bedroom.

Candles are another type of decoration that is not expensive. They can be purchased in any color and size so you will be sure to find some to match your room. When clustered together, candles can make a perfect center piece for a coffee or end table.
