I used to work for a company that gave little thought to the conference room. Admittedly it was a small, individually owned company, but still the biggest boast our conference room had was a large glass topped table that was constantly dirty. The room didn’t even have enough chairs.
This lack of effort wasn’t a large defect, but seeing as how it also acted as the lunch room, a place to relax and enjoy a break; some improvements would have been appreciated. The boss had a grand office with a lovely leather chair that appeared to have numerous adjustments and features, but it seemed that there was little money for something even half as nice in the conference room. The rest of us it seemed would have to suffice with the simple stationary chairs for our breaks.
This is situation is often the plight of small companies and employees of small companies. But, an investment in good chairs would really be an investment in the employees themselves. Comfortable chairs mean more comfortable people, which mean happier employees. Happier, comfortable employees will get more work done. The unhappy employee will spend hours a week fiddling to adjust their chair and complaining…think of all that lost work time.
If you are the owner of a small company then investing in good office chairs for the conference room and elsewhere is just a good idea and a good investment. A few ergonomically correct chairs will save your employees from back pain which will keep them from using insurance to go and visit the doctor. Also this purchase will show that you care about your employees comfort and health. Aside from health benefits, new office and conference room chairs will spruce up the look of your office. There are many benefits to investing in quality chairs for your employees; chairs are office additions that will look and feel good.
