Chair Material Choices

Conference chairs come in many different types of fabric and it is important that you choose the right one for your conference chairs. Here are the three most common fabrics that are available.

Leather/ imitation leather- Providing leather conference chairs can add a touch of elegance to your conference room. Leather is stylish, timeless and simple. Leather can also be hot, cold, sticky, and hard to clean. Leather generally takes on the temperature of whatever room it is in, so if the room is cold than the chair will be cold and vice-a-versa. This temperature change can make the chairs unappealing. Also, to keep the chairs nice, you have to them cleaned and sometimes you even have to apply leather oil to moisturize the material. If leather is not properly taken care of it can begin to crack, which is not something you want to worry about when it comes to chairs.

Mesh- Over the past few years mesh has become a very popular material to use for chairs. Mesh is breathable so you are sure not to get too warm or too cold. Mesh does generally look more modern or trendy, which may go against the traditional décor that many offices prefer. In recent years, mesh chairs have become more traditional looking. The designs are simple and the black mesh blends fairly well with the other chairs.

Cloth- Cloth covered chairs are generally the cheapest choices on the market. A cotton mix, this material is generally tough and long lasting. But after time it can become fuzzy. Also these chairs generally show stains more than leather or mesh. So if you spill coffee or ink on the chair, the cloth will soak it up and retain the stain. Like the mesh, these cloth covered chairs come in different colors, but black is still the most preferred in office and conference rooms.
