Colors are an essential part of your home. Perhaps in the past the tradition was to have all your wall white or cream, but today we love color. Colors in our wardrobe can express moods and feelings and in our home they can help to set the mood in a room. Here are some of the more common feelings and moods that some colors are suppose to impose or express.

Blue- Blue often has the ability to create a calming and peaceful atmosphere. Some studies have shown that the color blue can slow down your heart rate, reduce hunger, and cool you off. In Columbia blue is often the color that is associated with soap.

Green- Green is a color that reflects nature because it is a color that is so often found in nature. The color green can give a room a more youthful and vibrant feeling. Green has also been found to be a calming color, which may be why some doctors wear green uniforms. But be weary, if you are a married man visiting China a green hat will signify that your wife is cheating on you. In Ireland green represents the Catholic religion.

Orange- Orange is a warming color and a bright color. So an orange room will feel warm and inviting; you can not help but notice an orange colored room. Orange symbolizes balance, energy and vibrancy. In Ireland orange represents the Protestant religion.

Purple- Purple is regal. Because purple die was once so hard to come by only the most noble and most rich could afford purple cloth. Purple is a mysterious color that can exude wisdom and spirituality and creativity.

Red- Everyone know that red is the color to have if you want to be noticed. A red room will be warm, energetic and conspicuous. Red is a color that can make you feel reckless, angry and in love. In China, red is a color for luck and in India red is a color of purity.

Yellow- Yellow is a cheering, happy color that makes a room feel open and inviting. Who can be angry when they walk into a bright, warm, yellow room? Yellow is also a color that can represent friendship.
