DVD Clean Up

Storing DVD’s can be a pain. Most entertainment centers offer some storage for DVD’s but for the avid movie collector, this space can be quickly exhausted. Once the allotted storage space is filled DVD’s can easily become piled about here and there which can lead to lost discs and clutter. If you own and excessive amount of DVD’s but are short of space to store them, here are some tips on how to clear up your DVD clutter:

1. Ditch the cases- While the DVD cases sometimes have cool designs, they can take up quite a lot of space. If you are in need of an immediate solution for your DVD clutter, consider getting a leather bound CD holder and transferring your DVD’s into the case. Large CD cases can hold well over 100 discs so you will be able to store your DVD’s without taking up so much space.

2. DVD Shelf- If you want to keep the DVD cases they you should consider a tall, but narrow DVD shelf that will allow you to slide your DVD’s into specific partitioned slots for storing. While this may take up a little more space in your living room, it will allow you to organize all your DVD’s into one area, which will make them easier to store.

3. Commit your DVD to memory- With the advancement of technology we are now able to store thousands of movies on small and simple devices. Most of the storage devices are separate external objects and loading all your movies into the memory may take a little time, but once the transfer is complete you can free up all that space you were using to store DVD’s. When you go to purchase an electronic storage device, make sure to research all the latest options. There are several different kinds and you want to make sure that what you buy will be easy for you to operate and large enough to store all your movies.
