Using recycled material and being ‘Green’ has become a way of living for many people. So ingrained is trend that everyone from chip companies to local governments are stepping up to do their part for the environment. Now days almost everything can be recycled or reused including wood, tile and glass, all of which are great building materials.

A second, ever growing, trend is technology. Everyone, it seems, has a computer, printer, scanner, digital camera, iPod, camera phone, lap top or whatever. The popular thing is to be on the move with all theses things, which is rather advantageous, but eventually you do need to have some place to put everything eventually. In my home town we have a store dedicated to the selling of used building material. They have scraps of flooring material, old doors, tiles, windows, wood planks and so much more. While you may not have something similar in your home town you probably have building sites that have piles of scraps that they no longer need. Admittedly this will take time, effort and some money, but think of what you will have in the end.
