Pantries are a venerable source of kitchen storage. You keep anything from canned food to muffin tins in the pantry. But even without some organization, this storage area can easily become cluttered and messy. Keeping an organized pantry will make finding items much easier and will allow you to store more. Here are some helpful tips on how to keep your pantry organized.
1. Specific Containers- Having specific containers to hold foods like flour, sugar, noodles, and rice and so on will take up less space than leaving them lying around in their bags. Having these things in air tight containers will also extend the life of the product and keep out any unwanted insects. Labeling the containers will help you find each item, especially in a hurry.
2. Canned food holder- Many kitchen stores will have devices designed specifically for holding cans of food. Having them stacked in such a contraption will space in the pantry and allow you to easily tell what canned food products you have.
3. Group like items together- Keeping like items all in one area may not be a space saver, but it will help you to stay organized. If you have on shelf for all your baking goods then you will never have to tear the pantry apart looking for baking soda.
4. Spice Rack- Keeping your spices in order and their names visible will make finding them much easier. Also, a stacked spice rack will take up less shelf space than if you were to set them all on a shelf. You can purchase spice racks that attach to the inside of your pantry door so that you won’t have to use up any shelf space at all.
5. Stack and Lean- To make the best use of your space, stack or lean large items. For instance, stack all your backing dishes inside each other and lean your cook sheets up on their side.
