Three Ways to Help Your Back Feel Better

Back and neck problems have become increasingly common in recent years. In no small part, this is due to the fact that many of us are spending both our free time and our work time in front of computer screens typing. Sadly, this also means that many of us are keeping our backs in seated positions for a large percentage of the day.

Just a few decades ago, it would have been rare for people to stay seated for so many hours per day. Additionally, people were spending less time in their cars stuck in traffic jams. This meant more walking and less time sitting.

Add to this equation all the entertainment and digital distractions that we now have that tie us to our computers. At this point, our backs are really taking a beating. There are, however, several steps that we can all take that with our furniture that will help lighten the loads on our backs.

1. Find a good desk chair

Quality office chairs for both the home and office are not surprisingly the first place that we should start when looking to make our lives more back healthy. A poorly made chair (as most of us unfortunately already know) can truly ruin one’s day. Of course, this kind of office chair can wreak havoc on your back as well.

Spend the extra money and replace your chair with an ergonomic one. It is worth the investment, especially when you consider all of the hours that you spend at your desk. After all, how does one put a price tag not just on pain, but also on chronic pain?

2. Start Practicing Yoga

Choosing a well-made and comfortable chair is simply a smart move, but there are other smart choices that you can make to help your back as well. Stretching is an obvious pick, and yoga is a smart way of dealing with flexibility issues. Yoga has persisted for thousands of years because it works very well. The Hollywood promoted joke of yoga, as a bringer of great pain is not accurate. It is possible to practice yoga in a very peaceful and easy manner.

3. Lose Weight

Often losing weight is overlooked as a way of easing back pain, but the fact is that dropping belly fat is a fantastic way of taking pressure off of your lower back. If you are suffering from a great deal of back pain, dropping a few pounds could make a simply tremendous differenc

Easing your back pain starts with picking comfortable chairs. Beyond your chairs, stretching and yoga will keep your muscles from tightening and will also help reduce pressure and tension. Losing weight is another important part of the equation, and it will further take pressure off of your back.
